Customer Advisory Panel

Our customers are at the heart of what we do.

What is the Customer Advisory Panel?

Established in 2018, Orion’s Customer Advisor Panel is a forum for us to engage with leaders of community groups and non-government organisations that represent the interests of a broad cross-section of our customers. With a customer advocacy focus, the Panel helps us understand customer needs, issues and service requirements.

Panel members represent a cross section of the community and reflect the diverse perspectives of our customers. The Panel includes representatives from:

  • Meridian Energy
  • Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce
  • Community Energy Action
  • Age Concern
  • SEED New Zealand
  • Burwood Coastal Community Board
  • Christchurch City Mission
  • Waitaha rural health
  • University of Canterbury - student representative
  • Irrigation New Zealand
  • Local businesses

What does the Customer Advisory Panel do?

The Panel gets together in person three times a year to discuss, debate and share their views on current power issues. These
could be issues relevant to Orion, or the wider power industry. Panel members help Orion to

  • Understand customer preferences
  • Improve customer satisfaction
  • Better serve the community
  • Co-imagine the future
  • Get ideas for improvement
