Once the cable ducts are installed in the trench, we lay mag slab over the top. The mag slab protects the cable ducts (and the cable inside the ducts) from mechanical damage such as excavation in the road at a later date. Once the mag slab is laid, the trench is backfilled in layers of compacted gravel and then the final asphalt surface is laid.
